WINDSOR, Colo. – The Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC announced today that the team has re-signed forward Marky Hernandez for a second season.
Hernandez previously played for the Chattanooga Red Wolves, where he met Head Coach Eamon Zayed. The two have known each other and worked together for a while.
“I’ve known Marky for a few years now. I signed him because I know what he can do, what he’s capable of,” Zayed said. “He was kind of hampered on and off with injuries [last season]. I’m hoping, with an injury-free season… we’ll see the real Marky and he’ll be a massive piece for us this year.”
Hernandez played in 23 of the team’s League One matches in 2022, starting 10 of those. He had three goals and three assists, a feat that Zayed believe’s a player of Hernandez’s ability can exceed in 2023.
In 1,063 minutes played, Hernandez also made 206 successful passes, 15 of them being labeled as key passes.
