WINDSOR, Colo. — After standout performances in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to Lexington SC, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann and defender Lucky Opara have been named in the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 21.
Amann scored a pair of goals in the match, bringing his total to a league-best 16 this season. He scored his first after receiving a long ball from Opara, cutting onto his left foot and firing past Lexington keeper Amal Knight in the 28th minute. He got his second goal just nine minutes later, heading home a Marky Hernández cross to give Hailstorm a 2-1 lead.
In addition to his assist on Amann’s first goal, Opara created four chances and won 12 duels, seven of them in the air, against Lexington to earn his fourth team of the week selection of the season.
Amann, Opara and Hailstorm FC will be back in action this Saturday when Union Omaha comes to Future Legends Field for Superhero Night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Mountain time.
