WINDSOR, Colo. — For the third time in four weeks, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC defender Lucky Opara has been named in the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 22.
Opara had his best game in Hailstorm colors in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Union Omaha, scoring both of his team’s goals.
His first goal came in the 38th minute when a deflection fell right to his feet and he fired a shot past Union Omaha goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu to level the score at 1-1. His second came in the 87th minute as he turned in a cross from Irvin Parra to make it a 3-2 game.
In addition to the goals, Opara had six ball recoveries and won four duels in the match.
Opara and Hailstorm FC return to action at 7 p.m. Saturday against Greenville Triumph SC at Future Legends Field.
