WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC captain and center back Rob Cornwall was named to the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 12 of the 2022 regular season. He was also named to the previous Team of the Weeks for Week 11 as well as back in Week 8.
In the visit to the Richmond Kickers this weekend Cornwall helped the team cut its deficit to one goal on two occasions. The first came in the 68th minute off an Arthur Rogers free kick that Cornwall put home past the keeper, making the score 2-1 after the Hailstorm had trailed to that point. He followed that up in the 88th minute when he got on the end of another Rogers free kick, this time setting up fellow center back Leo Folla to make it 3-2.
With three Team of the Week honors, Cornwall ties forward Irvin Parra for the most Team of the Week appearances by a Hailstorm player this season. In addition, other Hailstorm members to be included in Team of the Weeks honors are:
Nortey Nortei: Week 11
Irvin Parra: Week 2, Week 3, Week 5
Denso Ulysse: Week 2
Ethan Vanacore-Decker: Week 2
The team is back in action on Wednesday, June 22, and Saturday, June 25. Wednesday is a home match at Jackson Stadium against Central Valley Fuego FC at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, the club is back on the road to visit Greenville Triumph at 5:00 p.m. MDT.
