WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC had a pair of talents make the USL League One Team of the Week for Week 17. Keeper Johan Peñaranda and defender Brecc Evans. Both were key pieces in the team’s clean sheet on Saturday against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
Peñaranda followed up his USL League One Save of the Week with another impressive outing. He came up big for the club with seven saves en route to his second clean sheet of the year. Northern Colorado has picked up points in six of the seven matches that Peñaranda has made an appearance in.
This is Evans’ third Team of the Week of the season, having previously made it in Week 13 and Week 14. Evans contributed to his sides’ clean sheet by making two tackles, three clearances, and three interceptions. Offensively he also had a 75 percent pass completion rate and he won 75 percent of his duels and aerial duels.
Evans is the fourth Hailstorm player this season to make three or more Team of the Weeks. Irvin Parra (4), Rob Cornwall (3), and Arthur Rogers (3) are the others to receive as many honors. Peñaranda is now the tenth different Hailstorm player to make a Team of the Week.

The team is back in action Saturday, July 30 when they travel to Breese Stevens Field to take on Forward Madison FC at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
