WINDSOR, Colo. – After a 2-1 defeat against FC Tucson on Wednesday, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC hosts Forward Madison FC on Saturday.
Since coming into the league, Madison’s Raiko Arozarena has been one of the best keepers in the league. His three clean sheets since his arrival are among the most in the USL League One during that time. Over his first six matches, Arozerena has also added 21 saves, allowing only four goals.
Another key player for Madison this season has been Eric Leonard. The midfielder has won over half of his duels this season and won all but four of his tackles. Adding 76 clearances defensively, he has been a staple of the Flamingos’ lineup.
Hailstorm forward Lachlan McLean found himself back on the score sheet against Tucson. That goal was his third goal this season, to add to his four assists in all competitions. The Australian’s contributions have helped the club to be a top-five scoring team in the league.
Despite the loss Wednesday, Northern Colorado sits only one point out of the playoff picture with eight games still to play. With five of the eight at home, the team is still in an advantageous position to make a playoff push.
The kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. MDT at Severance High School in Severance, Colorado. Expect overcast skies and the temperature to be in the 70s. This game, as with all USL League One games this season, will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The future home of Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, 118-acre Future Legends Complex will feature 6,500-seat TicketSmarter Stadium, 2,500-seat Future Legends Field, multiple baseball diamonds, multi-purpose fields, an indoor sports arena, lodging, and retail; and will host guests for major sports tournaments, events, leagues, and more.
