WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC defender Brecc Evans has been nominated for the USL League One Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 26. In the 2-1 win last week over Union Omaha, Evans opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
Defender Rob Cornwall passed the ball to Evans in space. Controlling the pass with one touch, Evans unleashed a powerful shot from 34-yards out. The strong shot stayed low to the ground with enough pace to beat a diving Kevin Piedrahita. It was his third goal of the season, and he would go on to add his fourth later in the match.
The voting for the Week 26 USL League One Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week is now open.
Irvin Parra is the only Hailstorm player to win a Goal of the Week honor. Parra won back in Week 5 for his goal against North Carolina FC on April 30. Other Northern Colorado players to be nominated for the award were Stefan Lukic (Week 6), Parra (Week 11), Danny Robles (Week 14), and Jerry Desdunes (Week 22).
Northern Colorado is back in action on Saturday, October 1, when they play visit Central Valley Fuego FC at 8:30 p.m. MDT.
