WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will kick off the upcoming campaign with seven preseason matches, the club announced today.
Five of them will take place in the dome at Future Legends Complex. The club will not be allowing spectators to watch preseason matches in the dome.
The slate begins with a bout against Harpos on Saturday, Feb. 11. Back-to-back road matches await Hailstorm after that.
First, they travel to Weidner Field, home of USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks. That’s the site of the first win in club history, which happened in the second round of last season’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. A 10-man Hailstorm scored an extra-time goal to capture the cupset, 1-0.
Fans will not be permitted to attend the match at Weidner Field, but they are allowed to watch when Hailstorm head back down I-25 the following week. They take on the University of Denver the evening of Friday, Feb. 24.
The club closes their preseason schedule with four home matches in 17 days, starting on March 1. Save for UC Colorado Springs, they faced all the remaining scheduled opponents in the preseason last year as well.
