WINDSOR, Colo. — A pair of Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC defenders have been honored in USL League One’s Team of the Week after the 0-0 draw with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Saturday.
Arthur Rogers, the reigning USL League One Defender of the Year, picked up where he left off in 2022, where he made Team of the Week six times. Rogers created five chances against Chattanooga, putting him on top of the league for that stat despite several teams having already played two games in 2023. He also won seven of his 13 duels in the game, capping off a well-rounded performance.
Joining Rogers in the Team of the Week is Brecc Evans, who also received that honor five times last season. Evans proved a threat from set pieces in the game, putting three shots on target. He also had what was likely Hailstorm FC’s best chance of the night, latching onto a Bruno Rendon header from a corner kick and forcing a fine save from Red Wolves keeper Carlos Avilez.
Rogers, Evans and the rest of Hailstorm FC will look for their first win of 2023 this coming Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Mountain time when they travel to face defending USL League One champions South Georgia Tormenta FC.
