WINDSOR, Colo. – Brace yourselves. Following a pair of goals against Union Omaha, Trevor Amann got named to USL League One Team of the Week.
It’s the second time in his Hailstorm career the wizard from Westminster has made a Team of the Week, and his first time since scoring a hat trick on September 3 of last year.
Saturday marked the second brace of Amann’s Hailstorm career. After entering the game to start the second half, the subbed-on striker sparked a surge that nearly resulted in a Hailstorm comeback. It fell just short in their 3-2 loss to Omaha, the club’s first league loss of the year.
Thanks to the forward’s furious effort, he currently sits atop Hailstorm’s leaderboard for goals, shots, and shots on target in league play. Amann is also one of just 11 players in League One with multiple goals thus far.
The Colorado kid and co. can rest a bit before their next matchup. On Saturday May 13, Hailstorm heads east once again, this time to Tennessee. Their match against One Knoxville SC will kick off from Regal Stadium at 5 p.m. Mountain Time. It will also be streamed live on ESPN+.
