WINDSOR, Colo. — After a convincing 2-0 win over Forward Madison FC Thursday, three Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC players were named in the USL League One Team of the Week.
Forward Trevor Amann was named in the Team of the Week for the second straight week and third straight Hailstorm game. He scored a brace against the ‘Mingos, bringing his total to five goals in the last three games, good for second overall in USL League One.
Amann is joined in the Team of the Week by defender Lucky Opara, who received the honor for the first time in his Hailstorm career. Opara contributed in both attack and defense for Hailstorm FC in Madison, with three chances created as well as three clearances and an interception.
Posting his fourth clean sheet of the season, Hailstorm goalkeeper Lalo Delgado was named in the Team of the Week for the second time in 2023. Delgado had three saves and helped his team to its second-straight victory.
The three players, along with the rest of their teammates, will be back in action Saturday in their home opener at Future Legends Field in Windsor. It will also kick off the 2023 edition of the Ice & Fire Cup against Central Valley Fuego FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
