WINDSOR, Colo. — Just four weeks after taking a 2-1 win in Tennessee, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will welcome One Knoxville SC to Future Legends Field on Saturday.
“Knoxville probably feel they deserved something out of that game,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said. “And rightly so, they created a lot.”
Knoxville did have 15 shots against Hailstorm FC last month, but only managed to get two on target, one of which was a Jake Keegan penalty.
Forward Trevor Amman, the current USL League One Golden Boot leader, was the star man for Hailstorm FC in Knoxville, scoring the first goal and assisting Billy King on the second.
“If we work hard and really buy into something and everybody buys into the game plan, we can beat anybody on any day,” Amann said.
Keegan, the goal scorer against Hailstorm last month, is Knoxville’s key player, having scored five of his club’s 11 goals this season. No other Knoxville player has scored more than once.
“He’s a poacher,” Zayed said of Keegan. “He’s one of the top all-time USL League One goal scorers. His movement is good, he’s a fox in the box, always seems to get on the end of chances.”
Hailstorm and Knoxville are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. Mountain time Saturday at Future Legends Field.
