WINDSOR, Colo. — On a club record 11-match unbeaten streak, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC welcome the Richmond Kickers to Future Legends Field for the second time this season.
Despite having played just six matches at home, Hailstorm are second in USL League One with five wins on their home turf.
“Any time we play here we feel like we have the edge,” Hailstorm defender Arthur Rogers said. “The other teams feel the altitude, we feel our fans, so it’s brilliant.”
This will be the third matchup between Hailstorm and Richmond this season and the second between the two clubs at Future Legends Field. Northern Colorado got their first ever win over the Kickers with a 2-0 victory at Future Legends Field on June 7, while the teams played to a 0-0 draw in Richmond on April 15.
“We’ve looked at their more dangerous players, how they like to attack, and kept them quiet,” Hailstorm head coach Eamon Zayed said.
Keeping Richmond quiet may be a more difficult task this time around as reigning USL League One MVP Emiliano Terzaghi has scored seven goals in the Kickers’ last six games, winning the league’s Player of the Month honors for June.
“Since we played them last he’s gone on a tear,” Zayed said. “So he’s somebody we’re going to have to watch out for.”
Also on a tear is Hailstorm forward Trevor Amann, who has scored six goals in the team’s last four games, leading USL League One with 14 on the season.
“Just try to get him service so he can keep doing what he’s doing,” Zayed said.
Hailstorm and Richmond are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. Mountain time Saturday at Future Legends Field.
