WINDSOR, Colo. — A 3-1 win over the Richmond Kickers that extended their unbeaten streak to 12 and their lead at the top of the USL League One table to five points netted Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC a pair of players in the league’s Team of the Week for Week 19.
Defender Lucky Opara was named in the Team of the Week for the third time after scoring his first goal for the club, heading home an Arthur Rogers corner to equalize at 1-1 in the 50th minute. Opara supplemented his goal with a pair of clearances, an interception, and a tackle won in the win.
Forward Billy King was named in the Team of the Week for the sixth time this season after scoring his sixth goal of the season, finishing a fine team move from the edge of the box to make it 3-1 in the 83rd minute. He also created three chances in the match.
Opara, King and Hailstorm FC are back in action Wednesday away from home at North Carolina FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Mountain time and fans can stream the match on ESPN+.
