WINDSOR, Colo. — Unbeaten in their last five matches and winners of their last three, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will welcome South Georgia Tormenta FC to Future Legends Field for the first time on Sunday.
A fourth win in a row would be a club record.
“Records are made to be broken, as we’ve seen with Trevor and hopefully soon with Arthur,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said.
This will be the fourth time Hailstorm have faced Tormenta this season, with a matchup in Georgia in June getting postponed and replayed in August because of weather. Hailstorm salvaged a draw in that August game thanks to a Marky Hernández goal in the 93rd minute.
The defending USL League One champions currently sit eighth in the table with 32 points, but are tied with Hailstorm for the most goals scored in the league with 48.
“They’re a dangerous team with very good attacking players,” Hailstorm defender Arthur Rogers said. “We know that since we’ve played them two and a half times already.”
Hailstorm and Tormenta kick off in the Storm Showdown at 4 p.m. Sunday.
