WINDSOR, Colo. — After securing a playoff berth and their fifth straight win at Central Valley Fuego FC on Saturday, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC make their second trip of the season to the Badger State to take on Forward Madison FC.
Hailstorm came away 2-0 winners from their first trip to Madison on May 18, a repeat of that result would guarantee them a playoff match at Future Legends Field.
“The first goal was to make the playoffs, the second goal is to give Northern Colorado a home playoff game,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
The current five-match winning streak and seven-match unbeaten run have elevated Hailstorm FC back to the top of the USL League One table. Meanwhile, Madison sits in fifth having won just one of their last six matches.
Wednesday will feature a matchup of the two league leaders in clean sheets this season in Madison’s Bernd Schipmann and Hailstorm’s Lalo Delgado, the reigning USL League One Player of the Week.
“It’s a difficult place to go and a good opponent, but we have confidence as a team and are just focused on ourselves,” Delgado said.
Hailstorm and Madison are set to kick off at 6 p.m. Mountain time Saturday in Madison, Wis. The match can be watched live on ESPN+.
