WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC has exercised an option in the contract of forward Billy King that will see him return to the club for the 2024 season.
King played in 34 matches for Hailstorm in 2023, scoring eight goals and adding five assists. He was third on the team in goals and tied for second in assists.
“I’m biased, but he’s the best footballer in the league in my opinion,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
In addition to his goal output, King created 58 chances in 2023, good for fourth in USL League One.
Prior to joining Hailstorm, the Edinburgh native played for seven different clubs in Ireland, England, and Scotland, including Rangers, St. Patrick’s Athletic, and Hearts, where he made his professional debut.
“I’m really looking forward to next season and hoping we can build on 2023,” King said.
