WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC has exercised an option in the contract of midfielder Danny Robles that will see him return to the club in 2024.
Robles played in 13 matches for Hailstorm in 2023 after returning to the club in August, starting six of them. He scored his only goal of the season in a 2-1 win over South Georgia Tormenta FC on September 10. He also added a pair of assists, including one for Trevor Amann in Hailstorm’s 4-1 playoff win over Forward Madison FC.
“He gave us that spark and energy that we needed in the second half of the season,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
Prior to joining up with Hailstorm in 2023, Robles played with his hometown club Ballard FC, winning the 2023 USL League Two championship.
Robles was also with Hailstorm in 2022, playing 27 matches and making 21 starts in USL League One play. He scored a pair of goals for Hailstorm in 2022.
He will now be back for his third season in Northern Colorado in 2024.
“Delighted to have him back for a full season,” Zayed said. “If he continues the development he showed from 2022 to 2023 into 2024 I think he’ll have a massive year.”
