WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC announce that goalkeeper Russell Shealy has been signed for 2024, pending League and Federation approval.
Shealy, a 2022 College Cup champion with Syracuse University, comes to Hailstorm from Crown Legacy FC, the MLS Next Pro affiliate of Charlotte FC.
“He’s going to push Lalo Delgado every day, and that’s exactly what we want,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said.
Shealy started the first three matches of Crown Legacy’s season in 2023, conceding four goals and winning twice.
During his senior season at Syracuse, Shealy set program records for both wins and clean sheets, allowing just 18 goals in 24 matches en route to the national championship. He also has experience in USL League Two with Reading United.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the fans and helping bring home some hardware for the club,” Shealy said.
