COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC kept their unbeaten preseason record intact with a 3-3 draw against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Tuesday.
Hailstorm opened the scoring with their first real chance of the match in the 11th minute when a cross from Noah Powder found the head of Irvin Parra to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Northern Colorado doubled their lead in the 25th minute as Parra turned provider with a through ball that found midfielder Danny Robles, who tucked it past the keeper for a 2-0 advantage.
After the hosts from the USL Championship pulled a goal back in the 34th minute, Parra restored the two-goal lead in the 41st minute, latching onto a cutback from Bruno Rendon for his second goal of the day.
“We scored three really good goals, and it was good to see Irvin get a couple of them,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
Colorado Springs salvaged the draw, however, scoring late in each half to get the 3-3 result.
Hailstorm will continue their preseason slate Friday against the University of Denver at Future Legends Complex.
