WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC announce that midfielder Haruki Yamazaki has been signed for the 2024 season, pending League and Federation approval.
Yamazaki, a native of Japan, will be kicking off his professional career with Hailstorm after wrapping up his college career at Oral Roberts in 2023. He started 16 times for the Golden Eagles as a senior, helping them to a 10-3-3 record in his starts with two goals and two assists.
“I’m happy to sign and excited to start my pro career here,” Yamazaki said. “I’m looking forward to a great time with my teammates, coaches, and the fans and hopefully a good season.”
Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said he is excited for Yamazaki to join the squad, emphasizing his versatility and ability to play in midfield and in defense.
“Technically he’s very sharp, very intelligent and clever player that can play multiple positions,” Zayed said.
Yamazaki could make his Hailstorm debut as soon as Wednesday’s USL Jägermeister Cup opener at Union Omaha.
