WINDSOR, Colo. — Riding a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will return to USL Jägermeister Cup play when they face Central Valley Fuego FC Saturday at 4Rivers Equipment Stadium.
Hailstorm currently sit on top of the West Group in the cup with six points from three matches. Their most recent Jägermeister Cup match resulted in a penalty shootout win over Charlotte Independence in the club’s 2024 home opener.
“It’s only our second game at home,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed. “We’re trying to make this a fortress. Last year we were a very good home team so we’re trying to get some good home form.”
Hailstorm have won each of their last four meetings with Fuego, with the standout performance being a 4-1 victory in Hailstorm’s home opener a season ago. This will be the teams’ first of two meetings in the group stage of the cup.
“It’s a competition that we want to win,” Hailstorm defender David Garcia said. “So we’re going to try to win every single game, same as the league.””
Saturday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
