WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC announce the signing of three players to USL Academy contracts, pending league and federation approval.
USL Academy contracts enable players to train and play in matches with Hailstorm while retaining college eligibility.
Forwards Gabriel Jurado and Evan Perez have signed USL Academy contracts with Hailstorm, as has defender James Parks. They join midfielder Chase Gozdieski as Academy signings for Hailstorm.
“The lads have come in, they’ve trained well, held their own, and they deserve to get on Academy contracts,” Hailstorm head coach and technical director Éamon Zayed said.
Jurado, 21, is a forward from the Chicago area and comes to Hailstorm after playing at multiple youth programs including Chicago Magic and Chicago Fire City.
Perez, 17, is a product of Greeley and Northridge High School. He played with the Colorado Rapids Academy from 2017-2023 and helped Northridge to a state tournament appearance last fall.
Parks, 17, is a native of Fort Collins who played at Windsor High School and with Arsenal Colorado before joining the Hailstorm U20 squad. He has a chance to be the first Windsor High School product to play for Hailstorm.
“Having a local Windsor High School boy is great for the community and shows there is a pathway here for young kids,” Hailstorm academy director Kevin Ireland said.
All three players will be available for selection for Hailstorm’s match Sunday against Greenville Triumph SC at 4Rivers Equipment Stadium.
