WINDSOR, Colo. — Just three days after defeating Union Omaha 2-0 in a USL Jägermeister Cup semifinal, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will face the Owls in a USL League One match on Saturday.
This will be the third match in eight days for Hailstorm, and the fourth in 11 for Omaha.
“We’ve played at home so there may be a slight advantage there, but I don’t think fatigue will have much of an impact on the game,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said.
The meeting will be the fifth of the season and 12th all-time between Northern Colorado and Omaha, with Hailstorm having won the previous three meetings and holding a 5-3-3 advantage in the overall series.
“There’s a lot on the line,” Zayed said. “They’re first place in the league and we’re obviously trying to catch them, and this is a good opportunity to do that.”
Hailstorm have outscored Omaha 8-3 in their four meetings this season, with seven of their eight goals coming from the trio of Bruno Rendon, Ethan Hoard, and Billy King. Omaha’s goals have come from forwards Missael Rodriguez and Pedro Dolabella.
Northern Colorado and Omaha will take the pitch at 7 p.m. Saturday at 4Rivers Equipment Stadium.
