WINDSOR, Colo. — After having their nine-match unbeaten run snapped with a 3-2 loss to Union Omaha last Saturday, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will look to get back on track when they welcome Chattanooga Red Wolves SC to 4Rivers Equipment Stadium this weekend.
Chattanooga has struggled recently, with six losses in their last seven matches. They do, however provide a threat going forward with the trio of Ropapa Mensah, Chevone Marsh, and Mayele Malongo combining for 19 goals in USL League One play this season.
“They’re three of the best forwards in the league,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said. “We’re going to have to make sure we’re better defensively than we were against Omaha.”
The match also marks the return of former Hailstorm players Stefan Lukic and Leo Folla to 4Rivers Equipment Stadium. Both Lukic and Folla played for Hailstorm in 2022 and 2023.
“I’m sure they’ll be glad to be back and probably have a bit of a crowd with them,” Zayed said.
Hailstorm will be looking to ensure that the loss to Omaha remains a blip in what has been an excellent run of form. They have won eight of their last 10 matches, outscoring their opponents 23-7 in that stretch that has featured 11 different goal scorers, with Ethan Hoard’s five leading the way.
Hailstorm and Chattanooga will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday at 4Rivers Equipment Stadium.
