WINDSOR, Colo. — Coming off of a season that saw him win USL League One Defender of the Year and help his club win its first-ever trophy, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC defender Bruno Rendon has signed with USL Championship side Indy Eleven.
Rendon was the leading scorer in the USL Jägermeister Cup, scoring nine goals, including Hailstorm’s only goal in regulation in the Final, which they won on penalties to secure the club’s first trophy in its history.
He was named to the USL League One All-League Team in both of his seasons with Hailstorm, earning second team honors in 2023 before being named to the first team in 2024.
“In two years here, his development in his tactical and technical game and his work rate and hunger to succeed have made him, in my opinion, one of the best players USL League One has seen,” Hailstorm FC head coach and technical director Éamon Zayed said.
Rendon will now head to Indy Eleven to continue his career, a club where Zayed played for two seasons and holds the all-time record for goals scored with 27 in all competitions.
“My challenge to Bruno is to break my all-time goal-scoring record,” Zayed said.
