WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann has capped his record-setting 2023 season by winning the USL League One Golden Boot.
“I always thank my teammates, number one, for giving me the assists and putting me in good spots,” Amann said.
Amann scored 23 goals this season, breaking the previous single-season record of 18 set by Richmond’s Emiliano Terzaghi. He finished six goals ahead of North Carolina’s Oalex Anderson in the Golden Boot race.
“I don’t know when Trevor’s record will be broken, I don’t think anytime soon,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
The Hailstorm forward scored in bunches, tallying seven braces over the course of the season including a stretch where he scored seven goals in four matches early in the season.
Amann broke the single-season goals record with a strike in the sixth minute of a 4-2 win over Charlotte Independence at Future Legends Field on September 3.
He scored 11 goals with his right foot, five with his left, and headed home six times.
Amann will look to continue his goal scoring prowess when Hailstorm host their first-ever playoff match Saturday against Forward Madison FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Future Legends Field.
