WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC and midfielder Jackson Dietrich have agreed to a multi-year contract extension that will keep him at the club through the 2025 season.
Dietrich, a 27-year-old native of Bremen, Germany, played in 33 games in all competitions for Hailstorm this season, making 23 starts. He scored a pair of goals in 2023, both of which were significant.
“He got into the starting lineup early and really I couldn’t take him out of it,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
His first goal for the club was an equalizer against the Colorado Rapids in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, a match Hailstorm would unfortunately go on to lose, 3-1.
Dietrich’s second goal this season was the first goal ever scored at Future Legends as he tallied the opener in a 4-1 win over Central Valley Fuego FC on May 27.
“The first half of the season, a lot of the success we had was down to Jackson. For me, he’s an unsung hero,” Zayed said.
He also created 14 chances, won 19 tackles and 94 duels during the 2023 USL League One Season.
Prior to 2023, Dietrich played 11 times for Hailstorm in 2022 after signing with the club mid-season. He made his Hailstorm debut on July 23, 2022 in a 0-0 draw with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
