WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC has signed midfielder Danny Robles for the rest of the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval.
“It’s good to see some familiar faces and meet some new people and ultimately try to win a cup with this team,” Robles said.
Robles will be returning to Northern Colorado after spending the first part of the 2023 season with Ballard FC, champions of USL League Two.
He played 27 times for Hailstorm last season, making 21 starts and playing nearly 2,000 minutes. His season was highlighted by a pair of goals in wins over North Carolina FC and the Chattanooga Red Wolves. He was also named in the USL League One Team of the Week for the only time in 2022 after his goal against Chattanooga.
“He’s a dynamic midfielder,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said. “He likes to get the ball and move the ball quick in tight spaces.”
Robles’ main contributions for Hailstorm last season came in defense, where he was one of the most proficient tacklers in the team with 25 tackles won. He also won 99 duels to go with 16 clearances and 19 interceptions.
Robles and Hailstorm FC are back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday against Greenville Triumph SC at Future Legends Field.
